This professional development program delivers evidence-based strategies, skills development and education that help women at various stages of their healthcare careers step into and succeed in leadership positions.

This course has been optimized for remote learning, with live streaming sessions that include interactive online Q&A with faculty. Participate from your laptop or desktop computer. All course presentations and materials will be available online to course registrants of each program for 90 days to watch and review at their convenience.

The Mass General Hospital Center for Telehealth and Mass General Brigham’s Virtual Care Program are committed to hosting annual virtual symposiums on key topics related to virtual care and remain committed to bringing together subject matter experiences from around the country across organizations.

Given the significant advancement of virtual care in the last year and half, this year’s symposium will focus on quality frameworks and how they have evolved, collaboratively across organizations. In this symposium, we will discuss best practices to measure the quality of virtual care, impact on patient access and experience, how to address structural inequities in virtual care and how to measure access to care, and more!

The format of the symposium will include 4 to 5 panels, which will incorporate both presentations and interactive discussion with a moderator and 3 to 4 participants per session.

Dr. Brian Wainger will provide an “Overview of Headaches.” Over the past 3 years, a new class of drugs have been approved for the prevention and treatment of migraines.  He will address these and other medications in the pipeline for headache management. Mind body approaches such as meditation, yoga, tai chi, cognitive skills, lifestyle interventions and positive psychology now boast an impressive evidence base to support their ability to improve – and in some cases, prevent – stress-related illnesses ranging from asthma to hypertension, functional bowel diseases and pain syndromes. 

The Herbert Benson, MD Course in Mind Body Medicine is a comprehensive education program where participants learn how to incorporate these interventions into their clinical practice. 

This course will be streamed live and recordings will be available for 60 days following the course.

The care of injured and critically ill patients is complex and challenging. The goal for the Trauma & Acute Care Symposium at Massachusetts General Hospital is to give clear guidelines to practicing clinicians who manage such patients. This symposium offers an ideal mix of the traditional standard-of-care principles with new, cutting edge information. It explores issues in several areas including resuscitation, surgical techniques, bleeding control, inflammation and infection, respiratory care, nutrition, prehospital care, rehabilitation, and ethics.

All sessions will be recorded and made available to participants for online viewing, at their convenience, via a course archive.

The Harvard Medical School designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Nurses make up the largest and most trusted group of health care professionals, work on the front lines of the health care system and are frequently called on to devise on the spot solutions to urgent health care problems, yet most nurses receive little or no training in how to effectively address these design challenges. In this presentation, Marion Leary will describe a new framework to think strategically about how to design meaningful change in health and healthcare. Ms. Leahy is the Director of Innovation at Penn Nursing, University of Pennsylvania where she creates curriculum focused on nursing innovation and the foundation of design thinking.

Preceptor Development Workshop
