The MGH/MGPO Practice Improvement (PI) Division provides departmental leadership with access to ongoing analytics and reporting to help practice leaders improve ambulatory operational performance.
The MGH/MGPO Practice Improvement Division partners with MGH and MGPO Finance and the Center for Quality & Safety to add operational finance and patient experience measures to the set of key performance indicators of an optimized ambulatory practice. The following subject areas reflect these key performance indicators for ambulatory operations:
- Demand and capacity utilization
- Access to appointments
- Financial performance (operational)
- Patient experience
- Other operational reporting
- Patient Gateway (PG)
- In Basket management
- Telecomm/phone access and management
Review the Ambulatory Dashboard here.
- Review dashboards and reports at least once for distribution frequency.
- Understand report and dashboard contents and metric definitions.
- Understand MGH/MGPO targets.
- Meet with a Practice Improvement Analytics team member quarterly to review recent results and to identify areas for improvement.
- Actively manage returned referrals daily through the Epic Workbench Report (go to PHS AMB REFERRAL TRACKING BY LOGIN DEPT – INCLUDE PT, OT, NUTRITION).
